Want to hire a skip but don’t know which one you need? We’re here to help.

With over 30 years of experience, here at Higgins waste and recycling we have all you need to safely dispose of your waste, from a range of services, to a friendly and experienced staff. We’re always happy to go the extra mile, just ask.

Our skips are available in a variety of sizes suitable for countless uses. Here we will describe each skip, it’s benefits, and best uses so you can be sure whichever skip you decide on, it fits your requirements perfectly. We also have a skip hire guide available, if you’re unsure of how the process of hiring a skip works.

First up is the mini skip, this is the smallest skip available and has a capacity of 4 cubic yards. This is perfect if you only have a small amount of waste to dispose of, or if you intend to dispose of very dense or heavy waste, such as soil or rubble. Due to its small size this skip can also fit into smaller areas than its larger counterparts, so if you find your space restricted this might be your perfect choice. This skip stands at approximately 3 feet tall, 4 feet wide and 6 feet long.

Next up is the most popular of our skips, the standard, or builders skip, this has a capacity of 8 cubic yards. This is ideal for big household or garden clear outs, shop fittings, commercial refits or construction sites. This is the largest skip available for heavy waste, but is equally suitable for light waste. This also comes with a drop door so it’s easy to fill. This skip stands at approximately 4 feet tall, 6 feet wide and 10 feet long.

Finally, we have the high open skip, this has a capacity of 12 cubic yards. It possesses the same footprint as the standard skip, with an additional 50% capacity. This is ideal for large clearances of light, bulky waste such as tree branches or shrubs. It can easily hold a number of beds or an entire suite of furniture. Due to its size it’s not suitable for heavy waste, such as rubble. This stands at approximately 6 feet tall, 5.8 feet wide and 12 feet long.

We also have larger sized skips available upon request, and a van service if you just have one or a few items to dispose of. If you’re unsure of the best fit for your needs, just ask.
