We offer a range of skips in various sizes to suit all needs, our prices are competitive and variable depending on your location, the size of skip required, and what’s going in it. Prices always includes drop off, collection and waste sorting, to ensure as much as possible is recycled. You can rest easy that there are no hidden fees. Feel free to give us a call for a no strings attached quote or to book your skip today. For example, we offer skip hire Listowel, among other various locations.
Skips available include the mini skip(4CYD), the builders skip(8CYD) and the high open (12CYD). You can find more information on the size and dimensions of each skip in our skip size guide. We also offer a van collection service, so if you’ve only one, or a few items to dispose of, we can help you there too.
Each skip can be kept for up to a week, if you need it longer, we’ll do our best to accommodate you if you let us know when you’re booking. We also offer exchanges, in case you need another, material delivery, whereby the skip being delivered can be filled with building materials purchased from Higgins Waste, and a same day drop off and collection service for those who require it. We advise that you give us a call, or pop us an email to book your skip around a week before you need it.
You can place almost any waste in any skip, with just a few exceptions. Any oils or hazardous waste, such as asbestos, or poison, cannot be placed in any skip, if you have this kind of waste, we suggest you contact your local authority who will be able to advise you on how best to dispose of it. Heavy waste, such as rubble or soil, is restricted to the 4 or 8CYD skip. You can also only fill a skip to its level line, if a skip is overfilled it may be dangerous to transport and the driver will be unable to take it until excess waste has been removed.
To maximise the use of your skip it’s advisable to have items prepared for disposal, for example you might move items to a more convenient location to reach the skip in advance of its arrival. Even if you’re throwing in a real mixture of waste there’s no need to worry about your environmental impact, as we sort all waste in our licensed waste facility. Here, as much as possible is sent for recycling, and most of the remaining waste is forwarded on to SRF (Solid recovered fuel), or waste to energy plants to ensure near to zero waste ends up in landfill.
When considering skip hire also consider where the skip will be placed, keep in mind that at least 9 feet of clearance is required for the skip to be placed, and the ground should be firm enough for the skip, including its future contents, and the truck delivering and collecting the skip to drive on. You may also encounter restrictions if you wish the skip to be placed on a roadside. If unsure, just ask.
